Description
We previously found a short sleeper mutant, fmn, and identified its mutation in the dopamine transporter gene. In an attempt to discover additional sleep related genes in Drosophila, we carried out a microarray analysis comparing mRNA expression in heads of fmn and control flies and found differentially expressed genes.

Description
An iron chelate, ferric nitrilotriacetate (Fe-NTA), induces oxidative renal tubular damage that subsequently leads to renal cell carcinoma in rodents. Here we used gene expression microarrays to find target oncogenes in this model. Network analysis of the gene expression microarray data revealed the involvement of beta-catenin pathway in the induced cancers.

Description
SMXA-5 mouse shows a high-fat induced fatty liver. The QTL for fatty liver was mapped on mouse chromosome 12, designated as Fl1sa. The liver triglycerides content of A/J-12SM consomic mouse, a chromosome substitution strain, was suppressed compared to that of A/J mouse.

Description
MAP kinases are integral to the mechanisms by which cells respond to a wide variety of environmental stresses. In Caenorhabditis elegans, the KGB-1 JNK signaling pathway regulates the response to heavy metal stress. The deletion mutants of this cascade show hypersensitivity to heavy metals like copper or cadmium. However, factors that function downstream of KGB-1 pathway are not well characterized.
